Honeymoon - The First Compromise?
By Lorna Mclaren

There is a standing joke about wedding presents that the bride and groom receive are all the same – toasters being a popular choice for the marital home. It may seem funny to think about the bride and groom being inundated with the same gift but it can cause a lot of embarrassment. This has led to the bride and groom often waiting to open their gifts until they are in alone together.

This needn’t happen anymore has it has become increasingly common for the future bride and groom to suggest a list of wedding gifts that they would like to receive. This can help lessen the chances of the bride and groom having a large amount of duplicated or unwanted gifts.

By far the best way to request wedding gifts that the bride and groom would like to be given is to have a wedding gift list set up with a store that family and friends can visit and choose an item from the selection. A large number of online wedding present list services are now available to help cater for wedding guests who live in other areas to the store itself.

Not all of the items that the bride and groom have on their wish list will be bought, of course, but it does help lessen the possibility of them having to put on a fake smile and appear grateful to the guests who bought them yet another toaster!
